Deep Muscular Therapy

Often, if you have an injury, the muscles around the area go into spasm. They become tight and painful, limiting your movement and increasing the recovery time for sprains, strains, overuse syndrome, whiplash and work related or motor vehicle accidents. Releasing the spasm in the muscles can reduce the pain, stiffness and restriction of movement, encouraging flexibility, mobility and circulation to the affected areas.

Sports/Remedial Massage

Using massage techniques specific to the injured area helps the injured muscle to heal correctly and reduces the chance that scar tissue will form and restrict muscle movement. This type of massage focuses on keeping muscles supple/flexible, reducing the chances of excess damage and allowing a faster recovery.

Therapuetic/Relaxation Massage

This massage is a light relaxing massage that increases circulation, relaxing the tight muscles. This encourages you to unwind, physically and mentally, promoting clear thinking while creating a feeling of well-being. Your therapist will ask you whether there are any problem areas that need focused attention.

Pregnancy

Massage is a wonderful way to relax, increase your energy, and relieve discomfort during your pregnancy. The caring touch of massage can help you experience your changing body in a positive, accepting way. Massage can also be something special for you at a time when you also face important social adjustments at home or at work, with family or friends.

Reflexology

Reflexology is gentle manipulation or pressing on certain parts of the hands or feet to produce an effect elsewhere in the body. The fundamental principle is one of releasing tension and encouraging the full blood supply to areas in distress. Reflexology also stimulates the subtle flow of energy, revitalising the whole organism. People of all ages, from babies to the elderly, can benefit from reflex massage. It can be very helpful for very elderly people with failing circulation, and where acrocyanosis (blueness of the extremities) is present a remarkable change takes place. The hands and feet return to a natural colour after a few treatments.

Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system plays an important part in the body’s immune system by repelling harmful bacteria, fungi and viral invaders. Lymph vessels carry a fluid, called lymph, around the body carrying harmful substances from the tissues to be exterminated in the lymph nodes. This massage stimulates the flow in the lymphatic system to help carry toxins and waste products out of the body. It can be helpful if you have a poor diet, lack of exercise/movement, are dehydrated or coming down with/recovering from the flu. It is also a good treatment for people who have had their lymph glands removed or are suffering from lymphedema (fluid retention and tissue swelling).
